Cruelty Free Products and its Advantages through a Heartfelt Story of a Four-legged Human

Tiger was a great four-legged human in the form of a dog. It would always be on paws whenever in need - Dog-walking the other dogs in the neighbourhood, playing with my little one, and running up and down the trampoline, were some of his favourite activities. There are times when Tiger and all the pet guard dogs seem indispensable, more than our humans. I'm sure most owners will agree.

So, his friend from the park - Splendour went missing one day. Never has it happened before, for he was just 6 and never went out on his own. It was mysterious because last he was seen was in his owner’s backyard.

Very coincidentally, around the same hour, an alert on my phone about animal cruelty popped up. It just sent the chills in my spine when I imagined the possibility of Splendour’s or Tiger’s abduction for the crazy needs of humans. My mind started having a flash of thoughts – Mascaras being drawn under his eyes, chemicals being injected into his leg muscles to determine the allergic reactions. Darn! Their innocent eyes just popped in front of me begging for honest consideration. And I thought to myself what if, just what if there were cruelty-free cosmetics to replace these atrocities in those poor creatures.

And then It came to my knowledge that the United Kingdom had led and paved the way for other European countries in banning animal testing of Cosmetic products and ingredients on animals and it has been revolutionizing the world now. What a noble thought! Many animals are victims of this testing process.

Reason? It’s cheaper to scapegoat these animals against the alternative in-vitro technology where the isolated cells, tissues and organs of an animal are tested outside his body in a glass environment to check for various skin allergies or acute toxicity. Sounds humane!

There, it turns out the neighbor’s dog-Splendor was just roaming around the neighborhood. He was safe. And I wish for other splendors and tigers to be safe too. No testing of animals for our cosmetic needs!

Hence, the purpose of this blog is to create awareness about cruelty-free products and their advantages in the hope to see a bigger advancement in the manufacturing and consumption of these products to make our planet sustainable.

This brings us to the first and foremost advantage:

Sustainable: Cruelty free products opt for natural materials for manufacturing. It is a great method to preserve nature and ecological balance.

Ethical: Cruelty-free products and their utilization create ethical well-being in people’s minds and their behaviour. It plants a seed of moral values which can blossom into the well-grown progeny of great minds.

Innovative: The ingredients used to manufacture these products have to be innovative to combat the killing of animals. This urges innovation.

Kinder: Another advantage is that these products are mostly organic and therefore kinder to the skin.

A question may be asked, what is the difference between Vegan and Organic and Cruelty-free products. It is believed that Vegan products use no animal flesh or cells used in manufacturing. Organic products mean during the production, no artificial preservatives, synthetic pesticides or genetically modified components were used. And Cruelty-free products mean there were no animals used for testing the ingredients for allergies and toxicity. However, A company making cruelty-free products are also believed to be aligned with their ethical values in not using artificial ingredients in the production of their resultant cosmetic product.

I would also like to bring to your notice that the label “cruelty-free” is tad difficult to define because for multiple interpretations of this term; therefore, consumers should read labels carefully and look for more information about the company before purchasing an item.

The term "not tested on animals" means that the company has not authorized or commissioned any animal testing and also has never been associated with any type of cruelty against animals in order to create their products.

It should also be noted that being vegan doesn’t mean they are 100% cruelty-free. It is possible that vegan and organic products might be tested on animals. Most products harness the power of natural ingredients and most importantly back it up with scientific formulations.

Hence, it is clear that by choosing cruelty-free products you are not only making a difference for animals, but also for the environment. There is no denying that our world is in crisis and we need to do all we can to help it recover. The most important thing that we can do for our planet is to reduce the production of harmful products and emissions resulting from various non-environment-friendly ways of production.

This means that by choosing cruelty-free products you are not only making a difference for animals, but also for the environment. There is no denying that our world is in crisis and we need to do all we can to help it recover. The most important thing that we can do for our planet is to reduce the production of harmful emissions and products.

Through the use of these products, people can make a noticeable change in their life without feeling like they have had to sacrifice any part of themselves or their lifestyle. Hence the pros of using cruelty-free products clearly outweighs the cons (if any) and we must and always encourage the usage of these products for a better world tomorrow. For the sake of all the Tigers, Splendors, Bellas and Bunnies.
